Senior Financial Analyst Mississauga, ON $90,000 - $95,000 + Comprehensive Benefits

This position is based at the company's Mississauga head office (Mississauga Road & Highway 401) and operates primarily onsite, with 10 work-from-home days available annually.
Your New Role Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, capital asset accounting, lease accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and business decision support activities. Key responsibilities include: Leading the accounting and reporting of fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, month-end accruals, and periodic asset reviews. Managing lease accounting activities, including recognition, amortization, interest calculations, forecasting, and compliance with accounting standards. Owning financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis relating to capital expenditures, capital assets, and leases. Preparing month-end journal entries, reconciliations, financial analyses, and supporting period-end close activities. Partnering with operational and functional leaders to provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations. Supporting internal audit initiatives and assisting with the implementation of audit recommendations. Assisting with Canadian corporate tax documentation, monthly sales tax filings, and tax reconciliations. Collaborating closely with Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and FP&A teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Preparing ad hoc financial analyses and executive-level reporting to support strategic decision-making. This opportunity offers broad exposure across accounting and finance while providing the potential to progress into a management position in the future.
What You'll Need to Succeed To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally possess: CPA designation or be in the final stages of completion. Progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, financial reporting, or corporate finance. Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting processes. Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skills. Ideally posses hands on IFRS experience Experience working with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience is considered an asset. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business partnering skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. A continuous improvement mindset and a proactive approach to process enhancement. Canadian work authorization and the ability to travel occasionally if required.
