An opening exists in the Book Fairs Division for the position of Sales Consultant reporting to the Sales Supervisor. The salary range being offered for this position is $23.00-$25.00 per hour.

Work Location: Our team is currently working remotely. Expectation is that home is this person’s primary work location with flexibility for in-person meetings as needed.

Role Summary

The Sales Consultant position is responsible for growing market share and revenue in a designated territory. Consultative and relationship selling techniques are essential to ensuring growth within existing business accounts, as well as building rapport when prospecting for new business.

Standard working hours are between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 pm. Monday to Friday (with an approximate 2-month layoff period in the summer). Availability to adjust working hours to accommodate flexible business demands is required.

Primary Responsibilities

Booking and confirming all Fairs, within a set timeframe, as per individual budgeted sales and revenue targets (seasonally). Using available reporting to determine and pursue opportunities for growth within their assigned territory, based on initiatives determined by the business. Adhering to established call process and associated timelines, working with Book Fair Hosts/volunteer groups to increase sales and participation at the Book Fair. Maintaining systems and databases with current customer and account information and accurate sales/service records (including CASL compliancy). Promoting Webinars, Learning Lab, Host Hub, and Homepage Builder resources to Book Fair Hosts and school volunteers, increasing participation across all accounts. Engaging in incentive opportunities designed to increase fair count or re-distribute fairs throughout a season. Effectively handle objections using defined processes and support materials. Actively participate in a coaching program, with the intention of ongoing learning and skill development. Participating in weekly sales team meetings, and other meetings as required. Maintaining up-to-date Health & Safety details and pertinent school records in Salesforce. Attending and participating in the bi-annual sales conference is required. Other duties/special projects as requested.

Qualifications

1-3 years of inside sales experience, with a strong focus on phone-based customer engagement. Superior interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and professionalism. Ability to self-motivate and work remotely as required. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and working knowledge of Salesforce (or comparable CRM platform) is required.
