Under the direction of a Licensed Practical Nurse or Manager, you will provide services to residents including personal care, activities of daily living, laundry, housekeeping, portering, recreational activities, and leisure activities where applicable.

Health Care Aide certificate or equivalent and GED or grade 10 English equivalency required. Dementia care training and Food Safe certificate is an asset. Previous experience with palliative care is an asset. Experience working with the elderly and disabled is preferred. You are able to communicate information in English both verbally and in writing so others can easily interpret and understand it fully. Food Safe 1 is required (post July 29, 2013) or equivalent for BC employees and Food Safety Basic or equivalent for Alberta employees.

You must be registered with the Alberta Health Care Aide Registry in order to work as a Health Care Aide in Alberta.

Requirements:

  • A current and clear Criminal Records Check Form and if applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.
  • A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.
