Working for Pembina means working safely. Overview: Cedar LNG is offering a unique opportunity to join the team on a Long-Term Assignment as a Senior Operator, Turnarounds, located in Geoje, South Korea for approximately 18 months commencing in the Fall of 2026. This assignment offers an opportunity for a Senior Operator to expand their skills and deepen their knowledge of LNG, while gaining valuable international experience in the Field. This unique assignment will also give you exposure to our 2 EPC partners, Black & Veech and Samsung Heavy Industries, allowing for collaboration and knowledge sharing with experienced project professionals from around the world. For the duration of the Long-Term Assignment in the shipyard in Geoje, this role will focus on the development and execution of FLNG pre-commissioning & commissioning activities in close collaboration with the project commissioning teams and technicians. Following the completion of construction and facility start-up, the role will transition to primarily focus on the design and execution of turnaround plans for the FLNG. This role will be responsible for bridging commissioning and maintenance planning operations and developing the turnaround framework. Success in this role requires a rare combination of commissioning expertise and maintenance planning capability, with the ability to assess planning packages, coordinate concurrent project and operations activities, and manage multiple workstreams, contractors, and stakeholders in a complex turnaround environment. The role demands strong analytical and technical judgment to develop integrated schedules, control scope and resources, and drive safe, efficient execution while capturing lessons learned and aligning across Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and supporting teams.   Cedar LNG is a floating LNG facility in Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada, within the traditional territory of the Haisla Nation. The project is strategically positioned to leverage Canada’s abundant natural gas supply and British Columbia’s growing LNG infrastructure to produce industry-leading, low-carbon, cost-competitive Canadian LNG for overseas markets. Cedar LNG will have one of the cleanest environmental profiles in the world and will provide unprecedented opportunities for both the Haisla Nation and the region.   Total rewards for this Long-Term Assignment are designed to provide comprehensive support and competitive compensation throughout the duration of the assignment.Responsibilities may include but not limited to:  

Phase 1: Shipyard Commissioning in South Korea

Support construction execution through verification of pipe spool fabrication, fit-up, and installation activities; Partner with Quality teams to monitor and verify Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) and inspection activities; Oversee and validate hydrostatic and leak testing programs to ensure system integrity and readiness; Participate in the verification and acceptance of mechanical completion activities and documentation; Support commissioning and startup activities, with a focus on process isolations, system boundaries, turnover planning, and system handover; and Work on a rotational assignment based in South Korea shipyards, supporting fabrication, construction, mechanical completion, and commissioning activities throughout the deployment period.

 

Phase 2 Transition to Kitimat: Turnaround Coordinator

  Turnaround Coordinator is responsible for assembling turnaround and major outage work scopes, detailed planning of work orders, scheduling, procurement, finance, execution and close out of turnarounds.  

Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to develop and execute comprehensive turnaround and outage strategies; Develop integrated turnaround work scopes, execution plans, and detailed schedules, identifying critical path activities and key execution risks; Manage turnaround budgets and AFEs in collaboration with Cost Control teams, providing cost forecasting, tracking, and performance reporting; Coordinate procurement of turnaround services, equipment, and materials to support safe and efficient execution;Lead and support turnaround execution activities, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, cost, schedule, and operational objectives;Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance turnaround performance, reduce downtime, improve reliability, and optimize maintenance execution; Conduct post-turnaround reviews, capture lessons learned, and implement improvements to future planning and execution practices; Provide technical guidance on maintenance strategies, procedures, job plans, and equipment reliability initiatives; Support compliance audits, integrity reviews, and assurance activities to verify adherence to regulatory, business, and operational requirements; Evaluate and qualify contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with approved standards, competency requirements, and business expectations; and Review facility integrity, maintenance, and performance data to ensure conformance with operational standards, certifications, business processes, and key performance indicators.

Qualifications

This role would be ideal for a Senior Operations professional with completions, commissioning, and start-up experience; or Mechanical Engineer/Technologist with hands-on pipe fabrication experience and working knowledge of instrumentation in operating environments; Strong understanding of piping systems, structural steel standards, and process operations within live industrial plant environments; Advanced proficiency in planning and scheduling tools (e.g., P6, MS Project), with the ability to prioritize and adapt plans against shifting operational demands; Working knowledge of fabrication methods, field execution constraints, and basic estimating to support maintenance and project planning; Strong understanding of process plant operations, including the integration of maintenance activities with production requirements; Minimum 10 years of experience in operations or maintenance within offshore or complex facilities (FLNG, FPSO), LNG, petrochemical, or gas processing environments; Proven experience managing competing priorities—balancing emergent work, planned maintenance, and operational constraints in a high-reliability setting; Journeyman trade certification and/or Power Engineering certification considered an asset; Maintenance Planning certification is an asset; Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) and MS Office; familiarity with other CMMS platforms (e.g., Maximo) is beneficial; Demonstrated project and maintenance planning experience within operating facilities, with a focus on execution readiness and minimal disruption to operations; Experience developing technical procedures, work packs, and job plans to support safe and efficient field execution; Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across operations, maintenance, and engineering stakeholders under dynamic conditions; Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, respond to changing priorities, and maintain schedule integrity; and Valid Driver’s License. Pay Transparency Requirement: The base salary range for this position is $117,800.00  CAD to $124,000.00  CAD.  Actual total compensation may differ based on candidate's qualifications and location.   The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position.
