About the role
The Tenant Liaison is responsible for supporting the daily operations of YW Calgary’s Taylor Family Home affordable housing building and supporting YW Crisis Shelter residents in navigating housing needs. Working closely with the Housing Lead, this position helps ensure smooth tenancy processes, positive tenant relations, and well-maintained facilities. The Tenant Liaison also supports the development of community engagement activities, co-chairs regular tenant meetings, and ensures tenants are connected to wrap around supports that promote housing stability and sustainable tenancies. The Tenant Liaison provides administrative, operational, and tenant support to foster a safe, respectful, and welcoming living environment for residents.
This full-time position is based on-site at the YW Crisis Shelter and follows primarily evening shifts (12:00 PM – 8:00 PM), including two Saturdays per month (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM).

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Assist with housing applications, eligibility reviews, and income verifications.
- Prepare and support lease signings, renewals, and related documentation.
- Receive and track maintenance requests, coordinate with facilities or contractors.
- Maintain inspection scheduled and assist with move-in, move-out and monthly inspections.
- Regularly attending the Taylor Family Home building to monitor cleanliness of common areas, parking adherence, and report concerns.
- Track tenant insurance and utility set up and monitor for ongoing assurance purposes.
- Track and file all required income documents, tenancy agreements and notices.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards.
- Ensure rent payments have been made and issue receipts as required
- Track arrears and provide regular updates to the Housing Lead.
- Manage tenant concerns and mediate disputes in collaboration with the Housing Lead and Manager, Crisis Shelter & Affordable Housing.
- Work with tenants and Housing Lead to identify solutions and reduce arrears.
- Submit rental payment and other financial documentation to Finance team as required.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Post-secondary education in Human Services, administration or property management, considered an asset.
- 1-2 years’ experience in tenancy administration, housing services, or related customer service role.
- Training in trauma-informed care, gender-based violence, and crisis intervention preferred.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, specifically women and children impacted by domestic violence is an asset.
- Knowledge of the Alberta Residential Tenancies Act is essential.
- Strong communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a part-time support role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data systems and reporting tools.
