Heavy Duty Mechanic
Diversified Transportation is currently seeking a full-time Journeyperson Heavy
Duty Mechanic to join our team in Fort McMurray.
Reporting to the Shop Foreman, you will work in a fast-paced environment
maintaining a large fleet of motorcoaches. Diversified offers an above-average work environment with an emphasis on safety and training.
Work Shift: Full-time, 7 and 7 shifts (12-hour shift, rotating between nights
and days)
Wage: $58.63 per hour, plus $2.00 per hour night premium, and $2.00 per hour

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintenance and repair of motor coaches
- CVIP Inspections
- Respond to breakdowns
- Supervision of apprentices
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of computer technology trends in the service industry, i.e. diagnostic programs and service manuals
- Ability to develop new solutions and techniques to solve problems related to new and/or different equipment
- Keep maintenance reports and documentation
- Ability to obtain clearance for the following tasks are required: driving record check (abstract), physical demands analysis, drug & alcohol test, criminal record check
Education Requirements
- Certified Heavy Equipment Technician (recognized in Canada)
- Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) is considered an asset or ability to achieve Provincial CVIP
- Journeyperson certification, other levels may be considered
- Valid class 1, 2Q or 3Q driver’s license is considered an asset
