Heritage Co-op is hiring a Human Resources Advisor . With a strong and growing presence across southwestern Manitoba , we’re excited to offer this opportunity based out of our Administration Office in Minnedosa, MB .
What you’ll do:
The Human Resources Advisor provides guidance and support across all functional areas of HR, including employee relations, talent acquisition, talent management, compensation and benefits, workforce planning, and organizational development. This role will support front-end employees through to our Executive Leadership Team to enhance the HR capability within Heritage Co-op.
Key Job Responsibilities Include:
- Support end‑to‑end talent acquisition activities.
- Provide frontline support for employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Coordinate employee engagement, wellness, recognition, and learning and development initiatives.
- Maintain awareness of HR best practices, compensation trends, labour‑market data, and legislative changes to support informed decision‑making.
- Assist with employer branding efforts, including career fairs, student engagement, and Co‑op promotions.
- Support respectful workplace initiatives and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
- Conduct HR audits, data quality checks, and documentation reviews to ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards.
- Support HRIS transactions, reporting, and system training for employees and leaders.
- Analyze HR metrics and provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Contribute to the development, revision, and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and toolkits.
- Lead or support HR projects related to policy updates, system enhancements, and organizational initiatives.
- Support workforce and succession planning efforts, staffing strategies, and leadership development.
- Assist with employer branding efforts, including career fairs, student engagement, and Co‑op promotions.
- Participate in community partnerships, volunteer initiatives, and environmental or social responsibility programs.
Who you are:
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labour Relations, or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive HR experience providing advice to leaders on HR policies, performance management, employee relations, and/or recruitment.
- Solid knowledge of employment laws and related compliance obligations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coach leaders and employees with tact and professionalism.
- Analytical, detail‑oriented, and highly organized, with the ability to interpret HR metrics and trends.
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships across the organization.
- Digital fluency, including the ability to adopt new technologies quickly, use collaboration platforms effectively (e.g., Teams), and leverage digital workflows to improve efficiency and decision‑making.
- Change‑agile, able to adjust HR practices and priorities to evolving needs and support leaders and employees through transitions with clear communication and practical guidance.
- Experience conducting or supporting workplace investigations is considered an asset.
- Previous experience with HRIS platforms is beneficial (familiarity with Oracle applications are an asset.)
