Role
This role can be based out of either our Kitchener, Hamilton, Ottawa OR Toronto offices.
This position provides an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual. You have a keen eye for detail and enjoy the fast-paced and competitive nature of business development. You are keen to work as part of the team developing client-focused strategies resulting in persuasive and winning proposals. The main responsibilities surround proposal and pursuit presentations, leading the coordination, writing, editing, and production of proposals, fee letters and statements of qualifications. In addition, you will play an important support role to our PR/Communications team, collaborating on marketing collateral and campaigns featuring the team’s innovative work. Reporting to the Principal, Business Development and Marketing, this role will fulfill an essential role in the office as follows:
Responsibilities
Lead project pursuit teams, serving as leader for the coordination, writing, editing, and production of proposals, fee letters and statements of qualifications with specific responsibilities as follows: Manage proposal process for multiple ongoing proposals as assigned. Conduct client & market sector research to assist in competitive positioning. Working with the pursuit teams, including in-house and at times partner firms, from start to finish on the writing and design of response materials both technical (with support) and non-technical aspects of a response. Oversight of RFP schedules to ensure timely responses. Reaching out to qualified consultants in a timely manner for RFP submissions and review for completeness, quality, and complete understanding of inclusions, exclusions and liability coverage. Assist with interview preparation and coaching. Conceptualize, research, and produce marketing materials, promotions and presentations as required. Assist in procuring photography and updating resumes, project profiles, references, etc. Work with the communications team to ensure alignment of high value messaging across publicity/social platforms. Perform other duties, including the development of marketing collateral, as needed.
Skill Requirements
Knowledge of marketing fundamentals and A/E/C industry terminology. Strong organizational skills, working and communicating with a variety of people including team members, clients, and consultants. Strong problem solving and analytical skills and ability to resolve issues in an amical and timely manner. Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the firm's services and areas of expertise. Understanding key trends and drivers impacting the market and translate them into winning strategies.
Software knowledge
It is essential to have a strong skill base in the following software: Advanced Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Adobe Creative Suite skills, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop It is advantageous but not essential to have experience with: Experience with CRM Programs Microsoft Project
Minimum requirements
5+ years of professional experience Strong writing and graphic design skills
Minimum requirements – education / licensing / certification
Recognized diploma or degree from an accredited post-secondary institution Driver’s License
