What you’ll do…
We’re currently looking for an Accountant to fill a current vacancy on our finance team. In this role you will work closely with the Accounting Manager to perform full cycle accounting duties, analyze financial results, and identify process improvements. This role is eligible for a hybrid working arrangement, with 3-days per week based from our Head office in Guelph, ON.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts
- Record monthly journal entries and perform month end close
- Maintain, monitor, and reconcile GL accounts
- Prepare full set of financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flow)
- Prepare monthly working paper files
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset scheduled, inventory accounts, and prepaid schedules
- Complete financial analysis and provide commentary on financial results
- Support the annual external audit process, budget preparation, management reporting
- Prepare and file commodity tax returns
Who you are:
A self-motivated, results driven accounting professional with strong analytical abilities and keen eye for details. You enjoy working on a team but are comfortable problem solving independently with minimal direction. Ideally you will bring the following skills and abilities to this role:
- Minimum 5 years experience in full cycle accounting
- Completed bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- CPA Designation (completed or in progress)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (i.e. complex functions, data analysis, pivot tables, v-look up, etc.)
- Fluent in English with proven effective communication skills (oral and written)
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Microsoft AX) ERP is an asset
- Experience working within a small business is an asset
