Motion Industries is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-orientedFluid Power Designerto join our team inLively, Ontario. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with strong experience in hydraulic and fluid power systems design, particularly within industrial and mining applications.
SUMMARY
The Fluid Power Designer will be responsible for designing, modeling, and troubleshooting hydraulic and fluid power systems. This includes developing detailed schematics and 3D models for power units, hydraulic cylinders, and underground mining vehicles. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and customers to ensure reliable, efficient, and high-performance system designs.
JOB DUTIES
- Design and developfluid power schematicsusingAutoCADandAutodesk Inventor
- Create detailed3D modelsin Inventor for hydraulic power units, hydraulic cylinders, underground mining vehicles and related equipment
- Interpret customer requirements and translate them into functional hydraulic system designs
- Select appropriate hydraulic components (valves, pumps, motors, filtration, etc.)
- Perform system calculations and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Troubleshoot and diagnose hydraulic circuit issues
- Provide technical support to production, sales, and service teams
- Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field
- Strong working knowledge offluid power systems (hydraulics)
- Proficiency inAutodesk Inventor (3D modeling)andAutoCAD (schematic design)
- Proven ability to design and troubleshoot hydraulic circuits
- Experience in industrial or underground mining applications is considered an asset
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-**Certified Fluid Power Associate (CFPA)**designation is considered an asset
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in fluid power design

COMPENSATION
$37.00 - $49.00 hourly
Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Motion, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
