Job Title Operations Administrator

The Operations Administrator reports to the Operations Manager(s) and supports field supervisors, forepersons, and project teams as required and is responsible for supporting day-to-day operational functions including payroll and workforce administration, crew scheduling and coordination, procurement and purchase order management, inventory and asset tracking, reporting, and general administrative support to ensure efficient and compliant project execution.

This position is seasonal and supports operational activities during peak project periods.

Responsibilities (including But Not Limited To) Payroll & Workforce Administration

  • Ensure accurate daily and weekly payroll data entry for all field crews.
  • Verify hours, equipment time, cost codes, and allocations prior to payroll submission.
  • Maintain and update employee records, certifications, and onboarding documentation.
  • Support employee scheduling changes, transfers, and general personnel communication.

Crew Scheduling & Coordination

  • Create, update, and distribute crew schedules based on project needs and direction from Operations Managers.
  • Track crew movements, absences, and shift changes to ensure coverage and compliance.
  • Assist supervisors with schedule planning and forecasting.

Procurement & PO Management

  • Prepare, enter, and manage purchase order (PO) requisitions for materials, equipment, and services.
  • Monitor PO status, approvals, and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure accurate coding and documentation to align with project budgets and cost tracking.

Inventory & Asset Tracking

  • Maintain inventory logs for materials, consumables, small tools, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, yard, or field leads to track stock levels and issue replenishment requests.
  • Support monthly or periodic inventory counts and reconciliation.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Prepare and compile daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
  • Assist Operations Managers with project documentation, safety record updates, and workflow coordination.
  • Maintain organized project files, logs, and records in alignment with company procedures.
  • Provide general administrative support to operations, including document control, data entry, and internal communication.

Additional Responsibilities

  • All other duties as reasonably assigned

The Ideal Candidate

Education / Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of administrative experience in industrial, construction, or mining environments.
  • Diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Office Administration, Supply Chain/Procurement, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in industrial operations.
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.

Experience / Skills

  • Background or experience in mining, heavy civil construction, or large‑scale earthworks operations.
  • Experience in payroll or workforce administration in industrial or field‑based environments.
  • Strong administrative background with proven accuracy in payroll entry, scheduling, and document control.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including strong Microsoft Office skills with intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities (formulas, accurate data entry, and tracking sheet management).
  • Experience using Pronto or similar procurement, inventory, or purchase‑order management software.
  • Experience supporting field supervisors, operations teams, or project managers.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced operations setting.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work professionally with employees, supervisors, and management.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with operations, field crews, and support teams.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly and adapt to evolving operational needs.

Work Location & Conditions

This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.

The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena’s Travel Policy.

There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.

Compensation The expected hourly range for this position is CAD $36-$40, in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
