Your contribution! This role will be working closely with a Development Manager and will be responsible for supporting the development of utility-scale solar, wind, and hydro projects in the province. The successful candidate will assist senior team members throughout the full development cycle, from early-stage inception or acquisition through bid submission, advanced development, and eventual handover to the construction team.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate tasks across multiple projects and disciplines will be key to success. The Associate will gain broad exposure to all aspects of project development while working closely with internal specialists, external consultants, and stakeholders.

Your day-to-day!

  • Support identification and evaluation of new project opportunities (greenfield, acquisition, and partnership prospects).
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous partners, municipalities, landowners, and community stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and consultants on land acquisition, environmental studies, permitting, interconnection, engineering, and financial assessments.
  • Provide research, analysis, and administrative support for project RFP submissions and bid processes.
  • Track and maintain project documentation, schedules, and budgets under the guidance of senior developers.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and briefing materials for management review.
  • Support senior team members during project handover to Construction and liaise with internal Finance and Legal as required.
  • Prepare required documentation to submit projects to senior management for approval.
  • Contribute to project risk assessments and assist in preparing recommendations for management decision-making.

Your skills, our requirements!

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience developing utility-scale wind, hydro and/or solar projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear reports and presentations.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Eagerness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and support project evaluations.
  • Exposure to Ontario’s energy market and regulatory processes is an asset.
  • Experience working with Indigenous partners or community stakeholders preferred.
  • Experience coordinating consultants, technical studies, or permitting processes considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with development contracts: Land Lease, Partnership LOI, Capacity Funding, Power Purchase Agreements, Interconnection Agreements, Turbine Supply, BOP/EPC, O&M is an asset.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • GIS software, an asset.
  • Bilingualism (French and English, both spoken and written) required to ensure collaboration with various stakeholders outside Quebec on a recurring basis;
