ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director of Care at Hogarth Riverview Manor, the Clinical Manager is responsible for overseeing clinical practice and the daily operations of the Home. This role provides leadership and guidance to the care team, ensuring high-quality, people-centered services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical leadership, mentorship, and supervision to staff

  • Supporting staff development and fostering a positive work environment

  • Leading quality improvement initiatives and evaluating outcomes

  • Overseeing financial planning and resource management

  • Promoting interprofessional collaboration and teamwork across disciplines

  • Serving as a role model, mentor, and coach to all team members

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

  • Current unrestricted certificate of registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario

  • Minimum one year experience working as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse in the long-term care sector

  • Minimum three years' experience working as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity in the health care sector.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Superior ability to communicate effectively and concisely both orally and in writing

  • Superior ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors subordinates public officials residents and families

  • Ability to identify understand and meet/exceed the requirements of internal and external customer

  • Ability to think and act strategically in a health care sector environment

  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to direct motivate evaluate ad recognize staff; proven ability to share skill and knowledge with others

  • Excellent project/time management analytical/critical thinking problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Proven conflict management abilities and mediation skills

  • Proficiency with office computer equipment and relevant software

  • Demonstration knowledge of and ability to interpret applicable legislation and related regulations codes and standards; specifically the Fixing Long-Term Care Act and Regulations and the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Assets

  • Certificate in long-term care administration is an asset

  • Master's degree in a health or management-related field and/or certification in Gerontological Nursing would be an asset

  • Membership in a professional association (i.e. RNAO or RPNAO) is an asset

  • Knowledge of the functions of the SJCG operation is an asset

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.

  • Offers of employment made to external candidates are conditional upon providing proof of a complete primary series of Health Canada approved mRNA COVID-19 vaccine or proof of valid medical exemption, prior to the offered effective date. If proof of vaccination or valid medical exemption is not provided, the offer of employment is rescinded.
