Position Summary
The successful candidate will design, fabricate, assemble, install and repair sheet metal products required in Division schools and buildings.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
-
installing and servicing HVAC supply and distribution systems, washroom components as well as the design, make up and installation of custom sheet metal
-
adhering to all safety procedures
-
responding to emergent after hours calls maintaining electronic safety and work records
Education/Qualifications
- must possess an Alberta Journeyperson Red Seal /Interprovincial Sheet Metal Worker Certificate
- a minimum five years related experience is required
- experience working in a shop environment with shears and brakes
- must have the ability to lift up to 25kg; climb ladders and work at heights; stand for extended periods, work at heights and on scaffolds; work in awkward and noisy environments; performing overhead work with arms raised
- good problem solving, organizational, time management, and record keeping skills
- excellent verbal and written communication skills ability to work independently or in a team environment
SKILLS AND ABILITIES

must be capable of climbing ladders, walking, standing and kneeling for extended periods
-
able to perform work for extended periods on ladders, scaffold and manlifts as well as in tight, cramped or confined spaces
-
ability to read blueprints and estimate materials
-
ability to undertake tasks requiring good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
-
computer literate and experience with Google Workspace
Rate of Pay
Journeyperson $44.62 per hour
Advance on Expenses $450.80 bi-weekly

- must participate in committee work as required
- must satisfactorily complete all required OHS training and procedures, adhere to safe work procedures, and actively engage in professional learning.
- may be required to work shift work
