About the role

HSSE Coordinator – NCSO

Industrial Operations | Marine Construction | Energy Projects
Fort Saskatchewan | Calgary | Fort McMurray | Travel Across Western Canada & Ontario

Canada Pump & Power is looking for an HSSE Coordinator – NCSO who brings the right mix of safety knowledge, practical field understanding, communication skills, and administrative follow-through.

This role is based out of our Head Office in Fort Saskatchewan and supports operations across oil & gas, mining, and industrial marine construction projects. The position includes a combination of office-based HSSE coordination, field visits, virtual site support, safety documentation review, statistics tracking, and ongoing communication with supervisors and crews across multiple locations.

We are looking for someone with the right attitude, personality, and maturity to support our workers in a practical and collaborative way. This role is not about showing up to site just to quote legislation or point out every minor issue. We need someone who understands that strong safety performance is built through trust, communication, coaching, accountability, and teamwork.

The right person will be comfortable working from Head Office while staying closely connected to the field. At times, this may include travelling to project sites, shops, and yards. Other times, it may involve completing virtual inspections with supervisors who have boots on the ground at remote sites across the country.

This person must be able to identify potential hazards and risks, work with supervisors and workers to determine practical mitigation steps, collect and report safety statistics, follow up on corrective actions, and help ensure safe work is being planned, documented, and completed.

We need someone who can build positive working relationships with crews while still having the confidence to speak up when something is unsafe.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Supporting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up
  • Conducting internal safety audits and COR audit support
  • Supporting our field workers and providing help to safety concerns
  • Reviewing FLRAs, JHAs, and operational safety documentation
  • Tracking safety statistics and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
  • Working directly with operations to strengthen safety culture across sites
  • Help our operations team prepare for upcoming work, by ensuring the safety requirements are met

What You Bring

  • NCSO certification
  • Strong knowledge of OH&S regulations
  • Train the Trainer certifications
  • Minimum High school Education or equivalent
  • Experience working in industrial environments such as oil & gas, marine construction, mining, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects
  • Confidence working with operators, supervisors, contractors, and senior leadership
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
  • Valid driver’s license with clean abstract and the ability to travel to project sites
  • Proficient with computers and smartphone applications
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write and speak English at a high level
  • Must participate in functional fitness evaluations and screening for drugs (including cannabis), alcohol and other controlled substances
  • Clean Criminal Background Check
  • At least 18 years of age

Why This Role Matters

You’ll be supporting operations that power infrastructure projects across Canada while helping ensure every worker goes home safe at the end of the day.

This is a field-focused role where your expertise directly influences how work gets done safely.

If you’re ready to take ownership of safety across diverse industrial and marine environments, apply today.

Please note that due to the high volume of applicants, only those selected for interviewing will be contacted.
