Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Prince Rupert Campus, invites applications for a full-time continuing Campus Administrative Officer commencing September 22, 2025. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Support Staff Scale, Level 12: $2,646.00 biweekly plus a comprehensive benefits plan.
This position is well suited to someone with strong administrative experience and superior organizational skills; who thrives in a dynamic, fast paced and changing environment; enjoys a challenge; and is dedicated to changing people’s lives through post-secondary education. Duties: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide supervisory and administrative leadership of campus administrative operations including staffing, scheduling, and supervision of front-line registration and support staff. The CAO will also provide support to the Campus Manager to assist in planning and operational initiatives.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Coordinates all administrative front-line registration and office services including scheduling and supervising front-line office staff (assigning work, developing department goals and objectives, etc.)
- Monitors and acts as the first point of contact for facility maintenance at the Prince Rupert campus
- Administers departmental budgets and participates in the capital and budget planning process
- Coordinates community and college events (i.e.: Convocation ceremony, Trade Fairs, Orientation, etc.)
- Coordinates class scheduling and room bookings at the Prince Rupert campus
- Acts as the Worker Safety Representative, proactively identifying and working to resolve all health and safety related matters
- Other relation duties similar in scope and complexity
Qualifications
Business Administration diploma (bachelor’s degree preferred) along with 5 years directly related experience, including 3 years progressive experience with in a post-secondary Student Services or Office of the Registrar using an integrated system.
Required knowledge/skills/abilities include:
- In-depth knowledge of enrollment services including direct experience with integrated systems including business analysis, implementation, training and troubleshooting
- Detailed knowledge and advanced proficiency with Colleague, Banner or equivalent, reporting tools, MS Office applications (with a minimum typing speed of 50 net words per minute)
- An understanding of and positive experience with change management principles and strategies
- Demonstrated initiative and innovative approaches to problem-solving, collaboration and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work as a team member
- Demonstrated knack for efficiently handling multiple tasks simultaneously without sacrificing attention to detail
