As the Events Coordinator, you will support the planning and execution of various Dealer and Corporate events at Home Hardware Stores Limited. This role requires an events professional who is passionate about creating engaging and memorable experiences that foster connection and engagement. Working closely with internal teams, external vendors, venues, and suppliers, you will help deliver high-quality events that bring Dealers, partners, and Team Members together. Led by the Events Manager, this opportunity suits a hands-on professional who thrives in event coordination and is excited to contribute to exceptional event experiences.
Please note this is a 14-month term role, ending July 2027.
Ready to make an impact in a new role? Here’s how:
- Support the Event Specialists with the planning and execution of major conferences and events, such as Homecoming, Supplier Partnership Meetings and Dealer Regional Meetings.
- Support and/or lead Team Member events.
- Liaise with internal and external vendors (i.e., AV, catering, decor, and staffing teams) to prepare quotes, RFPs, financial estimates, BEOs and floor plans for the assigned events.
- Create and maintain registration pages for assigned events, including managing Dealer and Supplier registrations, pulling attendee reports, and gathering post-event data for analysis.
- Process approved invoices for payment through DocuSign and maintain organized financial documentation, including estimates, invoices, and supporting materials.
- Act as the onsite contact for assigned events, coordinating deliveries, vendors, event setup, venue management, signage, client support, and event volunteers.
We’re looking for:
- Post-secondary education in Event Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field, with a minimum of three years of event planning experience.
- Proven experience planning events independently; and experience supporting large-scale conferences, conventions, or trade shows is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adjust communication style to various levels of stakeholders.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; experience with EventMobi, Canva, or graphic design tools is considered an asset.
- A hands-on, self-starter mindset with the ability to manage multiple events and shift priorities effectively.
- Strong ability to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with frequent interruptions and minimal supervision.
- Bilingual (English and French) is considered an asset.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, as required.
- Ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
