Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Care & Repair Technical Innovation Specialist, your role will span over a wide spectrum of responsibilities within the Care & Repair Innovations world. You will play a key role in building and maintaining a robust foundation for Arc’teryx to deliver on exceptional guest and employee experience. The impact of your deliverables will fall within repair and raw material innovation, continuous improvement and executing our strategic roadmap. You’ll drive change projects to initiate enterprise scale solutions to drive operational efficiency.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

The Care and Repair team is a key pillar of the ReBIRD program, where circularity lies at the core of our sustainability vision. As the operational backbone of the program, we develop scalable processes and implement them across our global network—actively contributing to our broader mission of creating durable, long-lasting products and services that serve not only our guests but also the planet. By extending the life of our products, we help reduce the number that end up in landfills. Our team is focused on building and rolling out the processes and operations that deliver an exceptional guest experience across all commercial touchpoints—including Guest Services, After-Sales, Brand Activations, Retail, and eCommerce.

If you were the Care & Repair Technical Innovation Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

    • Supporting in the management and forecasting of our structured and categorized standardized raw material inventory across our global repair network
    • Acting as the SME in executing our raw material strategic roadmap to enable global scale and iteration.
    • Identifying and devise raw materials and repair innovation in collaboration with our cross-functional partners in design, development, advanced concepts and the ARC’One manufacturing facility.
    • Effectively utilizing and interpreting product returns and raw material consumption data to identify and inform innovation and product improvement initiatives internally and within the broader organization.
    • Developing, project managing and executing core initiatives from briefing through to final delivery for implementation at all global ReBird service and repair expressions.
    • Partnering with the Care & Repair and Retail Operations teams in our continual drive to increase our repairability range and reduce repair times throughout our repair network.
    • Reverse engineering all product model categories to assess and improve repairability outcomes
    • Conducting trialing and testing of new innovative repair solutions and establish quality parameters and update our guest care advice.
    • Partnering with cross-functional SMEs in identifying and recording of repair standards and procedure manuals as per Care & Repair’s repairability roadmap.
    • Partnering with key stakeholders to ensure that outcomes of Arc’teryx’s circularity program are effectively implemented within Care & Repair’s global release program.
    • Overseeing the release and successful implementation of new repair standards and raw materials to ReBird repair partners.
    • Developing resources and SOPs to ensure all identified workflows within the business unit are optimized for global iteration.
    • Fulfilling the mandate of ensuring continual alignment and companywide visibility on our long-term strategic objectives within the raw material and repair innovation space.
    • Taking ownership of facilitating repair center and Alpha store repair check-ins ensuring that all required data and discussion points are clearly communicated, and tasks actioned.
    • Partnering with key internal stakeholders in the development of resources to expand the general knowledge base of repair and raw materials.
    • Leading and supporting initiating hard goods repairs within our global service network.
    • Continuously providing feedback to cross-functional partners upstream on post-consumer product performance and insights

    • Initiating the discovery and project planning requirements in collaboration with our footwear team in developing the strategy around footwear repairability.
    • Partnering in ideating and develop bespoke raw material offerings as we expand and evolve our repair offerings
    • Integrating current repair and raw materials innovation into circular product qualification programs within the creative product space.
    • Becoming a champion in bringing Arc’teryx Care & Repair innovation to the forefront of the global circularity narrative.

Are you our next Care & Repair Technical Innovation Specialist?

    • You have 2+ years’ direct experience in innovating in the raw material and repair environments.
    • You have 3+ years in technical product knowledge, design, manufacturing, or quality assurance related roles
    • You have a bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education with a focus on design, pattern making, supply planning, product development or related work experience.
    • You have proficiency in using project management tools like Jira and Asana
    • You have strong proficiency in Word, Power Point, Outlook and Teams with an advanced ability in Excel.
    • You have in depth knowledge of raw materials, including identification, sourcing, digital management, procurement, shipping and storage solutions
    • You have experience working cross-functionally with stakeholders at all levels
    • You have experience managing part-time staff members performing simple manual tasks.
    • You are dynamic and organized, and a master of clear delegation
    • You demonstrate a strong attention to detail along with the ability to adapt your communication style according to your audience's needs
    • You have experience working in roles where you need to translate information between technical and non-technical players
    • You have excellent communication skills and are confident at distilling complex information in an easily understood, actionable way
    • You have experience multitasking various projects at once, with a diverse range of responsibilities, and are effectively able to adapt to changing priorities
    • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and recommending solutions
    • You are skilled at facilitating meetings and workshops
    • You have demonstrated ability to balance a wide array of responsibilities, and are effectively able to adapt and re-prioritize as required
    • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
    • You have a record of curiosity and collaboration
    • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
    • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it

$70,000 - $97,000 a year

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$70,000 - CAD$97,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. The upper end of the range is typically reserved for candidates with demonstrated expertise that is above job requirements or who bring exceptional directly transferable experience.

Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
