We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the Production Relief Operator position at our Chemical Manufacturing plant located in Thorold, Ontario.
Essential Job Duties:
- Operates and monitors manufacturing equipment.
- M aintain quality, production schedules and meeting all environmental standards and regulations.
- Required to work shift work and overtime, weekends and holidays as needed to maintain a 24/7 operating plant.
- Provides coverage/relief for shift openings as needed (i.e. vacation, disability, vacancy, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Minimum education includes successful completion of a Community College 2-year Diploma, preferably in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math).
- R elated chemical process plant/manufacturing experience is preferred. Related experience in plant operations with a focus on plant production and be familiar with plant operations, systems, processes and procedures would be an asset.
- General knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations, including LOTO, Hot Work, and Confined Spaces.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate basic computer software applications.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Required to work overtime, weekends, holidays and call-in as needed to maintain a 24/7 operating plant.
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position including climbing ladders and stairs, walking, bending, stooping etc. Must have good manual dexterity and experience using industrial hand tools and power tools. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms. Must be able to work in confined spaces, work at heights and work from platforms
