About the role

Who we are:

Sasco Contractors Ltd, serves the industrial, commercial, and institutional markets all over BC, specializing in distribution upgrades, commercial one-off new builds, tenant improvements, server rooms and data communication in "mission critical environments", complicated fire alarm upgrades, EV car chargers, and electrical service and maintenance.

We work in a fast-paced, unionized environment, local to Burnaby and surrounding areas, with other offices in Kamloops & Vancouver Island. We are a tight-knit team of respectful and humble people working in coordination & sometimes independently, with a solution focused process-oriented approach and growth mindset.

You’ll support the Service & Special Projects department by keeping work organized, coordinated, and moving forward. Your efforts will ensure accurate estimates, smooth planning, clear communication, and the resources our field teams need to succeed, ultimately helping us deliver every project with efficiency and excellence. You’ll play a key role in maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring each project wraps up seamlessly.

What you'll do:

Estimating Responsibilities:

  • Review service requests, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope.

  • Conduct site visits to assess conditions, verify measurements, and identify potential challenges.

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, equipment, subcontractors, and labor.

  • Request and analyze subcontractor/supplier quotes for accuracy and competitiveness.

  • Develop proposals and quotations for clients, ensuring clarity on scope, exclusions, and assumptions.

  • Identify risks and cost-saving opportunities in the estimating process.

  • Maintain a database of pricing, labor rates, and historical project costs for future reference.

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Oversee service and small project jobs from award through completion.

  • Coordinate scheduling of crews, subcontractors, and equipment.

  • Communicate project details to field technicians, ensuring they understand scope and expectations.

  • Procure materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery.

  • Monitor project progress, adjusting schedules and resources as needed.

  • Provide regular updates to clients, handling questions, changes, and approvals.

  • Manage change orders, including documentation, pricing, and client communication.

  • Ensure safety compliance and proper job site practices.

  • Track project budgets and costs, identifying variances early.

  • Review field tickets, timesheets, and invoices for accuracy.

Administrative & Client Relations:

  • Maintain accurate project documentation (contracts, work orders, drawings, reports).

  • Prepare project closeout packages, including warranties, manuals, and final invoicing.

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and provide technical support as needed.

  • Build long-term relationships with clients to generate repeat business.

  • Participate in internal meetings to align estimating, operations, and field teams.

What you’ll bring:

  • Red Seal Certificate Master electrician FSR A, B

  • Service Tech 3-5 years’ experience

  • Similar role is an asset

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license

  • Experience using Trimble products (Accubid Pro, Change Order and Live Count), an asset

  • Experience using Bluebeam, an asset.

  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills; with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills in dynamic or ambiguous environments.

  • Adaptable and flexible, able to adjust quickly to shifting priorities or requirements.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the focus on transparency and expectation alignment for diverse stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability for delivering high‑quality project outcomes and driving clear decisions and next steps.

  • Proficiency with MS Office and project/document management systems. Experience with SharePoint, SiteMax, SiteDocs or related tools is an asset.
