We’re looking for our next Senior Design Researcher. Could It Be You?

We’re looking for a Senior Design Researcher with a strong quantitative background to join the Customer Experience team. Our team tackles complex questions about our customers’ decision-making, needs, behaviours and product experiences across multiple products and lines of business, and we would love for you to elevate the work that we do by bringing your quantitative expertise to the table. You’re someone who has a great balance of qualitative and quantitative research skills to be a true mixed methods expert who can help us understand our customers both at depth and at scale.

As a part of your day-to-day, you’ll be leading research projects from end-to-end, from planning to execution to analysis to shareout. You must have excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams across product, design, strategy, marketing and engineering so that you can involve your stakeholders throughout all stages of your research. We want you to convey the Experience you find in a compelling and actionable way to maximize your impact on our product strategy and roadmaps.

  • Design and execute end-to-end research projects that inform every stage of the product lifecycle, from foundational discovery to in-market optimization.
  • Work closely with members of Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, Marketers, Strategists and Data Scientists to identify and prioritize key research questions that address the most critical business needs.
  • Drive the execution of high-impact mixed methods research where you integrate qualitative and quantitative data to provide a holistic understanding of our customers. This includes combining methods such as large-scale surveys, A/B tests, regression analysis, data clustering, behavioral data analysis with interview and usability data to uncover patterns and opportunities.
  • Move beyond numbers to tell compelling stories. You will synthesize complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations that influence product strategy, design decisions, and business goals.
  • Upskill other researchers and designers on quantitative methods, best practices, and statistical principles, helping to foster a more data-informed culture across the organization.

  • Strategic Mindset: A demonstrated ability to connect research findings to business impact and think critically about the strategic implications of your work.
  • Exceptional Communication: An outstanding ability to tell compelling stories with data, tailored to diverse audiences from engineers to executive leadership (e.g., facilitating ideation workshops and research findings).
  • Bonus Points: Experience in the fintech, banking, or financial services industry is a major plus. Knowledge of pricing research methods, familiarity with TheyDo for journey mapping, SQL for querying databases, and the ability to create dashboards are also great bonuses.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a Design Research, UX Research, Customer Research or related role with a proven track record of influencing product outcomes.
  • Education: A background in a relevant field, such as Psychology, Cognitive Science, Behavioural Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Statistics, or Data Science is ideal.
  • Quantitative Expertise: Deep expertise in a range of quantitative methodologies, including advanced survey design, sampling techniques, experimental and quasi-experimental design, A/B testing, and statistical analysis (e.g., regressions, clustering, ANOVA).
  • Mixed-Methods Foundation: A strong grounding in qualitative methods (e.g., in-depth interviews, usability testing, contextual inquiry) and a history of successfully combining them with quantitative data.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with statistical software like R or Python for analyzing data and creating charts. Experience with Voice-of-Customer and Product Analytics tools for tracking customer behaviour and feedback (e.g., Qualtrics, Medallia, Amplitude).
