Potential Total Compensation: $115,000-$140,000

Position Summary:

As Cloud Architect, the successful candidate will act as a technical leader for our Infrastructure teams, working to define and implement new patterns to improve our hybrid infrastructure. This role requires significant experience in traditional on‑premise infrastructure, as well as modern cloud platforms, with a primary focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Kubernetes. The successful Cloud Architect helps build a consensus approach with our senior technical staff that navigates between the requirements of our business projects and the evolving state of our infrastructure capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design complete cloud architectures using the full range of infrastructure and cloud native services (compute, storage, networking, security, serverless etc).

  • Develop hybrid architectures integrating on‑premise environments with cloud platforms.

  • Create and maintain architectural roadmaps, reference architectures, and design patterns.

  • Recommend modernization strategies including migration, re-platforming, and optimization.

  • Design architectures compliant with security best practices, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.

  • Implement identity, access, and data protection controls across cloud and on‑premise environments.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, audit, and governance teams.

  • Works collaboratively to elevate team owned design to standard reusable patterns and components.

  • Provide architectural guidance to engineering, DevOps, application development, and operations teams.

  • Represent the team and infrastructure direction in architecture design and process.

  • Create consensus between senior technical stakeholders.

  • Evaluate new technologies and participate in vendor assessments.

  • Present architecture strategies and proposals to business stakeholders and senior leadership.

  • Mentor technical teams to build cloud and automation skillsets.

  • Capable of both clearly identifying and instructing on work to be done while also being hands on keyboard implementing solutions or troubleshooting.

  • Ensure solutions are cost-optimized, resilient, and easily available.

  • Establish automation strategies using IaC (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

  • Troubleshoot complex cloud and hybrid infrastructure issues.

Qualifications**:**

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, systems engineering, or cloud engineering with recent/current experience in cloud architecture.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing solutions on AWS and with Kubernetes.

  • Strong background in traditional/on‑premise infrastructure, including virtualization, storage, and data center technologies.

  • Experience with hybrid connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, load balancing, SSO integration) and cloud migration.

  • Hands-on expertise with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), automation, and CI/CD tooling.

  • Experience in at least one scripting/programming language (particularly but not necessarily Java, Python, Javascript/Typescript, bash).

  • Experience or deep understanding of Cloud edge and multi-cloud networking.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence across technical and business teams.

  • AWS certification(s): Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional preferred.

  • Familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms preferred.

  • Experience with multiple account structured AWS environments and security controls.
