Effective:September1,2026to**June****30,**2027
**The ****__ ****successful ****__ ****candidate ****__ ****will:
- Have an undergraduate degree in music education, preferably at the secondary level
- Have training and experience teaching and leading large concert bands, jazz bands, choirs, guitar classes
- Have training and experience teaching and leading choir and vocal performing programs;
- Ability to play and teach multiple instruments (i.e. wind, percussion, brass, piano, guitar) to new and experienced musicians
- Have experience with the use of technology and its integration into music programing
- Motivation and willingness to work outside of the regularly set school timetable
- Willingness to coordinate District level music events
- Willingness and aptitude to work closely with the parent led Band Boosters group;
- Willingness and motivation to plan and organize Band trips
- Knowledge and integration of BC's new curriculum, current 21st century pedagogy, assessment, and inclusion practices;
- Be committed to and practice the philosophy of inclusion
- Be able to teach, adapt, modify, and differentiate for a wide variety of learning styles and needs
- Embed the First Nations Principles of Learning in all subject areas
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the professional community at the school and district level
- Effective communication, interpersonal, organizational and classroom management skills
- Have a commitment to work towards achieving the goals of the School Growth Plan
- Have knowledge and commitment to using current assessment strategies, including formative assessment
- Be committed to working as a cooperative, collaborative member of a school wide instructional team attend meetings as required
- Be committed to consultation, parent conferences, and positive home/school/community liaison

**SALARY: ** The starting annual salary for full-time teaching position ranges from $64,600 to $113,466, with placement on the range based on length of services and qualification in accordance with the collective agreement. Additionally, $3,126 annually as a Remote & Rural Allowance.
