Reporting directly to the Executive Manager, Decision Support & Student Data Compliancy, The Supervisor, Student Information Technical Services & Compliance is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the integrity, functionality, and compliance of the Student Information System (SIS) across all schools. This position oversees technical operations, supervises the Decision Support Team, and leads initiatives that align with ministry requirements and organizational goals.
The incumbent manages application development, system upgrades, integrations and reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to ONSIS and other mandated systems. Acting as a liaison between technical teams, school administrators, and ministry stakeholders, the Supervisor ensures seamless implementation of system changes, supports centralized school operations, and leads projects for major SIS enhancements and new application deployments. This role demands strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy and compliance within a dynamic growing educational environment.
Qualifications and Skills required:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management.
- 5+ years of experience in student information systems, including application management, data management, application development, system upgrades, data integration, and report development.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience is required, with demonstrated success in leading and supporting teams.
- Experience in Board and School settings with a strong understanding of organizational policies, procedures, and compliance with Ontario Ministry compliance, including OnSIS is a definite asset.
- Oversee and assist in the development, maintenance, and support of the Student Information System (SIS) in collaboration with the Decision Support Team.
- Proven track record in client support and customer service, with deep knowledge of related databases and structures.
- Working collaboratively on writing, creating, and analyzing reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Successfully led and contributed to special projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Problem solving and solution mindset.
- Ability to prioritize and manage numerous projects with competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to build and manage key stakeholders’ relationships with the department and across the Board.
- Possess an understanding and appreciation of the mission of a Catholic school system.
