Overview
Are you someone with strong leadership capabilities? Do you enjoy building relationships and working collaboratively in a team environment with both internal, external and global stakeholders? Reporting to the Director of Underwriter Pricing, the Actuarial Analyst is responsible for providing pricing services to the underwriting team.

Your job
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with underwriting team in pricing reinsurance treaties across all lines of business.
  • Provide technical assistance to price facultative reinsurance and primary insurance (large casualty pricing).
  • Develop expertise on Company pricing tools and maintain tools as required.
  • Assist in developing Managing General Agent (MGA)'s monitoring report.
  • Monitor MGA's results through experience and pricing analysis.
  • Support underwriting team with technical pricing tools.
  • Assist in producing data for risk capital model, retrocession, earthquake accumulation and financial planning.
  • Opportunities to work on both primary and reinsurance business.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Your profile
Required Education/Experience

  • A Bachelors' Degree in Actuarial Sciences or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as actuarial analyst in the P&C industry in ratemaking.
  • Experience in commercial ratemaking is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 actuarial exams.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • Good statistical knowledge. The ability to use statistical software is an asset.

  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with spreadsheet and database applications.

  • Excellent analytical, negotiating and investigative competencies.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong computer ability and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Self-motivated, organized with strong commitment to meeting deadlines and superior attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Business and general insurance acumen.

  • Adaptability and flexibility.

  • Ability to travel (as required)
