About the role

  • This role is open to remote based candidates based in Canada with a preference for Vancouver based candidates who can be in office 2 days a week.

We’re looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team and be part of our next stage of growth. As our BDR, your top priority is to drive outbound pipeline generation, book meetings with high-quality prospects, and expand engagement across our core and emerging markets. This role is part of a new function of our sales team with opportunity for growth. It is ideal for motivated, team players who work well in fast paced, collaborative environments.

Skills

Traction Rec’rs come from a variety of backgrounds, and we are eager to find people that are from diverse backgrounds. For this role, you might have:

  • 1–3 years of sales or customer-facing experience in SaaS, tech, fundraising, retail, or hospitality

  • B2B customer-facing experience an asset

  • Strong communication and writing skills

  • Comfort with outbound activity (cold calls, emails, social outreach)

  • Experience with or willingness to learn tools like Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator

  • Curiosity, coachability, and a drive to learn the outbound sales craft

  • Previous success as a BDR/SDR and desire to help shape a new program a strong asset

  • Personable individuals who quickly builds relationships and trust

What You Will Be Doing

  • Collaborating with Account Executives to identify and execute outbound strategies to target accounts

  • Researching and mapping target accounts across key verticals: YMCAs, JCCs, and Parks & Recreation

  • Reaching out to multi-level personas including CFOs, COOs, CIOs, and operational leaders

  • Creating personalized outreach across multiple channels (email, phone, social, direct mail)

  • Building and managing sequences and logging activity in prospecting tools

  • Contributing to account-based marketing plays in collaboration with Marketing

  • Driving top-of-funnel activity and booking high-quality meetings that lead to pipeline

  • Attending industry events (if applicable - limited travel may apply)

Compensation

At Traction Rec, we are committed to a fair, market-based and equitable compensation structure. Our market data is refreshed on an annual basis to reflect the most current market conditions.

The base salary for this role is $70,000 with on target earnings (OTE) of $90,000, which includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary.
