As an Associate, Workplace Health and Safety, you will report to the Director, Workplace Health and Safety and support the implementation of safety policies, procedures, and systems across Castlemain. You will work with leaders, employees, and stakeholders to strengthen a positive safety culture, coordinate health and safety initiatives, and help identify and address workplace hazards.

This is a full-time, permanent position offered on a remote basis.

About the Opportunity:

  • Partner with the Director, Workplace Health and Safety to design and implement trauma-informed, culturally safe safety programs grounded in data and best practices

  • Support the development of practical health and safety policies, procedures, and day-to-day processes

  • Coordinate joint health and safety committees across provinces and territories

  • Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen and integrate health and safety practices across the organization

  • Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions

  • Provide guidance to employees and leaders on safe work practices, risk assessments, and travel safety

  • Contribute to training, onboarding, inspections, audits, and ongoing health and safety communications

About You:

You bring at least 2 years' experience in developing and/or maintaining a workplace safety management system as well as:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation such as all provincial and territorial Occupational Health and Safety Acts, Codes, and Regulations, and applicable standards

  • Experience applying project and change management principles and practices to health and safety initiatives

  • Experience working in health and capacity for community-based programs (such as mobile social workers, personal support workers, etc.)

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Willingness to travel as required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Working knowledge of English and French and lived or work experience with Indigenous communities is preferred.

Successful candidates will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) as a condition of employment.

Compensation:

Starting annual compensation of $51,00-$69,000 $plus rewarding benefits package. The offered compensation will take into account the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
