We’re looking for our next Senior Specialist, Training. Could It Be You?
The Senior Specialist, Training is a high-impact role responsible for bridging the gap between Questbank’s legacy operations and our new, modernized future. As the bank undergoes a massive transformation of its systems and standards, you will ensure our people are not just "trained," but truly engaged and bought-in.
You are a creative storyteller and an energetic educator who can pivot from teaching technical workflows to coaching underwriters on soft skills. This is a "builder" role. You will design the annual training calendar from scratch, manage high-visibility training sessions, and leverage cutting-edge AI tools like Google Gemini and NotebookLM to revolutionize how we deliver job-aids. Your mission is to drive operational excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and sustain a strong training curriculum.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- SME Collaboration: Act as the primary bridge between Subject Matter Experts and the front line, translating complex technical system changes and regulatory requirements into digestible, engaging learning modules.
- Annual Training Calendar: Design, manage, and execute a comprehensive annual training roadmap that ensures all Operations staff meet mandatory regulatory and performance standards.
- Competency Mapping: Partner with Operations leaders to define "what good looks like" for various roles (e.g., Mortgage Underwriter vs. Collections Agent) and map specific training paths to those competencies.
- AI-Driven Innovation: Actively use Google Gemini to build custom "Gems" for training support and leverage NotebookLM to synthesize complex procedures into digestible learning materials.
- Multi-Channel Content Creation: Build diverse learning assets including e-learning modules (no specialized authoring tools required, but high creativity expected), professional Google Slides presentations, and internal newsletters.
- Public Speaking & Facilitation: Confidently host live classroom sessions, webinars, and town halls, acting as the "face" of Operations training to drive rapid learning and proficiency.
- Gamification & Engagement Strategy: Design and implement gamified learning initiatives, such as internal certification badges, leaderboards, or knowledge competitions, to incentivize skill development and boost employee engagement during the bank's digital transformation.
- Training Analytics & Reporting: Establish a robust framework for tracking and reporting on key training metrics (e.g., completion rates, assessment scores, and time-to-proficiency) to measure the effectiveness of learning programs and provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Executive Leadership Training: Design and deliver specialized, high-impact training sessions and strategic briefings for Executive leaders required to drive the bank’s modernization.
So are YOU our next Senior Specialist, Training? You are if you have…
- Education: University Degree in Communications, Education, Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Years of Experience: 4 to 7 years in a Corporate Training, Internal Communication, Human Resources, or Change Management role.
- Modern Tool-Kit: Expert-level Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets). High comfort level, or a deep desire to master Generative AI (Gemini, NotebookLM) to revolutionize how training content and job-aids are developed.
- Instructional Design Mastery: Deep understanding of adult learning principles with the ability to build a curriculum that bridges the gap between technical "how-to" and behavioral "soft skills."
- Industry Context: A strong understanding of Banking Operations (Mortgages, Collections, Underwriting, Credit Card Operations, etc.) to ensure training is credible and accurate.
- Creative Branding: An eye for design and branding; you make internal training documentation look like a premium product, not a dry corporate memo.
- Dynamic Facilitator: A natural public speaker who can hold the room's attention, whether talking to entry-level staff or the Executive team.
- The "Builder" Mindset: A self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and excited by the challenge of creating a training curriculum from scratch rather than following a pre-existing manual.
Compensation Information:
- Base salary range: $65,000 - $85,000
- The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
