About this role:

As a Retail Operations Processing Representative, you will play a crucial role in fulfilling specialized retail investment requests, on behalf of our branch teams, triggered by Member requests. These requests are complex, so you will ensure they are executed with accuracy and quality, remaining compliant. You will frequently interact with our branch teams act as a trusted partner to build and maintain internal relationships with cross-functional departments. Your proactive nature and collaborative attitude will help align efforts to achieve Meridian’s MFG strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Member/Partner Experience

  • Support Retail in the sale and fulfillment of all investment solutions

  • Execute on complex activities such as:

    • Transfers In
    • Transfers Out
    • Issuing and Receiving Cheques
    • RESP opening, management, withdrawals and deposits
    • RIF administration and management
    • Fulfill requests within timelines, verifying documentation and transactions for accuracy.
    • Investigate Member accounts and activities, managing transactions on multiple systems with precision.
    • Resolve Member issues, manage resolutions and support branches with Member Concerns to mitigate risks.
    • Use policies to solve errors or omissions, stay updated and maintain policies, procedures, forms.
    • Comply with regulations, keeping up with changes and handle correspondence and information discreetly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Member Experience focus, commitment to Service Excellence

  • Solid retail Investments knowledge in Registered Plans, RESP, Locked In plans, Non-Resident regulations.

  • Familiarity with investment and lending documentation

  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, including virtual technology. Ovation/Encore and Microsoft Office products, an asset

  • Desire for continuous learning and growth

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

  • Initiative and ownership, acting decisively within authority. Escalate where needed.

  • Effective organizational time management, and critical thinking skills

Education, Designations, Training, and Experience

Experience

  • 1-3 years progressive experience in retail investment operations, or like field
  • Background education in accounting, finance, commerce, business administration, or equivalent would be an asset
