IS 240: Contemporary Issues In International Affairs
This course examines selected global issues through a problem-based learning approach. Students will work in teams to simulate global conferences on selected transnational issues such as United Nations reform, international justice, conflict resolution, terror and security, or the environment.

Position Requirements

  • MA or PhD in International Studies, Political Science or related discipline. Preference related to academic qualifications will be given in the following order: applicants with PhDs; applicants who have completed all PhD coursework and are enrolled in a PhD program; applicants who have completed all PhD coursework but are not currently enrolled in a PhD program; applicants who are enrolled in a PhD program but have not completed PhD coursework; applicants with a Masters degree.
  • Experience with teaching or research related to the course’s subject matter.
  • A record of effective teaching at the post-secondary level.

Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours

The instructor will deliver the course on campus face-to-face on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 0830-0945. Instructors are expected to have one office hour per week.
Sessional Lecturers may have preparatory work to do before the start date and sometimes may have to deal with grading tasks after the termination date.
