As part of its growth strategy to expand its portfolio of renewable natural gas (RNG) production assets in North America, GreenCore Biofuels is looking to hire an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial individual to join its growing team as a Feedstocks Manager.
Team members contribute to projects that reduce emissions and support the transition to low-carbon energy systems. Role Description
The Feedstocks Manager is a full-time, remote-working role responsible for securing and managing organic feedstock supply for GreenCore Biofuels’ renewable natural gas and other biofuels facilities.
The Feedstocks Manager is expected to combine expertise across agriculture, waste management, logistics, commercial contracting and biology. They understand not only what feedstocks to source, but also how those feedstocks affect digester performance, project economics, supplier relationships, and capital deployment.
Work Location: Western USA or Canada
Where You Fit In
The Feedstocks Manager for GreenCore Biofuels is a critical commercial and operational role with the individual responsible for securing feedstock supply and ensuring the feedstock portfolio is bankable, biologically suitable, contractually secure, and economically optimised. Within the GreenCore Biofuels portfolio, the Feedstocks Manager is viewed as the person responsible for protecting each facility's single largest operational risk— feedstock supply. This role is considered one of the most influential positions in achieving stable operations, maximizing RNG production, and protecting long-term project value.
On a day-to-day basis, this role evaluates current and potential feedstock sources, negotiates supply agreements with vendors and partners, and monitors contract performance to ensure consistent quality and volume.
The Feedstocks Manager collaborates with operations, logistics, and finance teams to align feedstock planning with plant capacity, production targets, and cost goals. The role includes conducting market and regulatory research, tracking pricing trends, and identifying new supply opportunities to support expansion projects. This position also oversees relationship management with agricultural, industrial, and municipal stakeholders, manages data and reporting on feedstock inventories, and supports risk assessment and sustainability initiatives related to feedstock procurement.
Qualifications
Experience in feedstock procurement, supply chain, or commodity management within biofuels, agriculture, waste management, or related industries. Strong skills in contract negotiation, vendor relationship management, and partnership development. Ability to analyze market data, cost structures, and regulatory requirements to support feedstock strategy and decision-making. Knowledge of renewable natural gas, biogas, or broader renewable energy sectors and associated environmental and sustainability issues. Proficiency in using spreadsheets and data tools for forecasting, inventory tracking, and performance reporting. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, finance, and external stakeholders. Demonstrated capability to work safely on industrial or agricultural sites, including adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, agriculture, business, supply chain management or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel regionally as needed to visit feedstock suppliers and facility sites.
Preferred Experience Profile
The preferred candidate should have:
- 7–15 years in feedstock procurement, agricultural commodities, waste management, or bioenergy
- Experience negotiating multi-year supply agreements
- Knowledge of anaerobic digestion feedstocks and logistics
- Familiarity with both agricultural and food processing sectors
- Track record of managing supply risk and supplier relationships
Experience in industries such as grain handling, livestock feed, food manufacturing by-products, organics recycling, or renewable fuels can be highly transferable.
Dimensions of the role
- Market intelligence: Understanding the competitive regional markets for feedstocks is critical to anticipating shifts in availability and pricing, the Feedstocks Manager should have the ability tomonitor competing markets for feedstocks, including livestock feed, composting, rendering, biomass power, pellet manufacturing, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and biofuel pathways (where relevant)
- Leadership and communication: Strong negotiation, communication, interface and stakeholder management skills are essential, as the Feedstocks Manager role requires coordination across various organisational functions: procurement, operations, laboratory, finance, legal, trucking contractors, suppliers, etc.
- Remote working with periodic travel to the RNG operational facility in Oregon, USA and the local region to engage with feedstocks suppliers.
