About The Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our innovative team at Trane Technologies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on advanced AI and micro-services development, contributing to our BrainBox AI Workplace Presence model and other groundbreaking projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions that enhance our AI capabilities and support our mission to deliver sustainable climate solutions. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including AI research, cloud infrastructure, and product management, is essential to ensure the successful deployment and continuous improvement of our software systems. This position provides a platform for technical growth, innovation, and making a tangible difference in the fight against climate change.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field, along with over five years of relevant professional experience. Expertise in Python programming, object-oriented design, and software development best practices is essential. Experience with unit testing frameworks such as pytest, cloud infrastructure management using Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation, and debugging micro-services within AWS environments is required. Familiarity with Linux operating systems, automating tasks, and AWS managed services like Lambdas, Queues, and API Gateway will be highly advantageous. Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for innovation are critical to success. Knowledge of LLM architecture, Fast API framework, and machine learning research will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop, design, and implement micro-services and tools to enhance our LLM (ARIA) model capabilities. Collaborate with development managers to plan and execute software projects effectively. Conduct feasibility studies for system upgrades and propose enhancements to optimize functionality and efficiency. Update existing software systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements. Design new software applications, websites, and programs to meet evolving business needs. Write high-quality, advanced programming code adhering to best practices and coding standards. Perform code reviews to ensure high-quality output and promote knowledge sharing within the team. Manage project timelines, tasks, and deliverables to ensure timely completion. Create comprehensive technical documentation for new and existing software systems. Participate in daily SCRUM meetings to align team efforts and project goals. Collaborate with the AI Research team to incorporate the latest methodologies and feedback into software development. Document development processes, share insights, and maintain organized records for team knowledge sharing. Assist in supervising the deployment of software components and ensure smooth integration. Develop, upgrade, and maintain existing services and codebases to ensure optimal performance. Respond promptly to troubleshooting and maintenance tickets to minimize downtime.
