About the Role

We are looking for a Coordinator, Payroll interface, reporting to the Head of AccountingAccounting Manager This role will maintain payroll accounting processing responsibilities at the PowerCo Canada facility in St. Thomas, ON.

This is a flex hybrid work structure, where employees can work both remotely and on-site at our St. Thomas location.

Key Responsibilities

  • To verify the accounting bookings created out of the bi-weekly & monthly payroll process, validate the correctness of the GL accounts posted, reconcile the supporting documents generated by Dayforce with the accounting

  • To analyze the differences between planning and actual figures corresponding to labor costs (salaries and benefits)

  • Support month and year end activities related to labor costs

  • Benefits accruals follow up

  • Quarterly update of TCE (Total Cost of Employment) assumptions.

  • Headcount planning and monthly follow up

  • Employee’s travel reimbursement follow up. To keep close communication with VWGS

  • Coordinate and agree on headcount (HC) figures and total cost of employment (TCE) with both HR and HQ, including figures for ZEUS (planning and actuals); prepare all related HC and TCE reports; and approve budgets, purchase orders, and expenses related to TCE

What you bring to the Team

  • College Diploma or equivalent in College Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience with SAP 4/Hana would be an asset

  • Robust knowledge of MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel and reporting skills

  • Demonstrated competency with general accounting and GL processing

  • Familiar with benefit plans, with the ability to administer multi-divisional plans

  • Background working with 3rd party providers (benefits, EAP, etc)

  • Potential for international travel to HQ in Germany (total travel up to ~10%)

  • Overtime may be required to meet ramp-up deadlines

  • Experience with coordination of global teams is a strong plus

  • High degree of intercultural awareness and sensitivity

  • A background in manufacturing, automotive or startups is a plus

experience in Finance, accounting and payroll environment, ideally within both unionized and non-unionized payrolls
