About the role
As a Mining Process Sector Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a defined scope within complex mining projects. You will lead a multidisciplinary team (engineering, procurement, construction, quality, HSE, etc.) and act as a technical expert in mining processes. You will be involved in all stages of the project lifecycle—from design to commissioning—ensuring performance, safety, regulatory compliance, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management and Sector Coordination
- Lead a project sector in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage interfaces between disciplines and other project sectors.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Prepare execution plans, estimates, service proposals, and feasibility studies.
- Monitor performance indicators (cost, schedule, quality, safety) with support from project controls.
- Mining Process Engineering
- Design and optimize processes related to ore extraction, treatment, water and tailings management.
- Perform simulations, mass and heat balances, and equipment sizing.
- Prepare technical documentation: PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, equipment specifications.
- Identify process-related risks (e.g., HAZOP) and propose control measures.
- Technical Leadership and Mentorship
- Supervise and support intermediate and junior engineers.
- Coordinate study, design, and construction teams.
- Collaborate with vendors and evaluate technical proposals.
- Participate in the review and approval of technical deliverables.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Integrate lessons learned and promote continuous process improvement.
- Propose innovative solutions tailored to environmental and regulatory challenges.
- Contribute to the optimization of processing circuits, ventilation, and tailings management.
