About the role

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of trenchless construction activities on the Ballard Conveyance Project in Seattle, WA, part of the Ship Canal Water Quality Project (SCWQP).

Reporting to the VP, Projects, this role provides leadership from project award through completion, with accountability for planning, budgeting, scheduling, field execution, and client coordination. The Project Manager works closely with field teams, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, to a high standard of quality, and with strong financial control.

This opportunity is well suited for an experienced construction project manager with a background in trenchless, underground, or heavy civil work who is comfortable taking a hands‑on leadership role on a complex infrastructure project.

This is a project*‑based position, with an expected duration of approximately 7 months, and the potential for longer‑*term opportunities depending on future work in the region.

What You’ll Be Doing

Project Execution & Operations

  • Lead the full lifecycle execution of trenchless construction projects from award through close out
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to schedule, cost, and performance targets
  • Review and approve project costs, invoices, change orders, and forecasts
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, safety, and quality requirements
  • Maintain oversight of project documentation, including contracts, permits, and reporting

Leadership, Client & Field Interface

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle

  • Maintain proactive communication and manage client expectations

  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and internal teams

  • Lead project meetings and provide regular status, cost, and schedule updates

  • Provide leadership and direction to field teams, superintendents, and support staff

  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and safety focused culture

  • Champion the company’s safety culture and Internal Responsibility System

  • Support quality management activities and implement corrective actions when required

Working Environment & Conditions

  • Project‑based position tied to the Ballard Conveyance Project, with an expected duration of approximately 7 months

  • Role can be based out of Kamloops, BC or Calgary, AB

  • Requires regular travel to the United States, with expected on‑site presence in Seattle approximately every second week

  • Combination of office‑based project management and active field interface supporting site teams

  • Anticipated start date: Mid‑April

  • Salary: Approximately $130,000 CAD per year; depending on experience

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management
  • Background in trenchless construction, underground, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
  • Demonstrated ability to lead field teams and coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders
  • Clear, professional communication skills with experience managing client relationships
  • Engineering or Construction Management education is considered an asset
  • PMP designation or equivalent practical experience is preferred
  • Experience managing projects valued in the $1M–$20M+ range is beneficial
  • Canadian citizenship with a valid Canadian passport (required for U.S. travel)
