Manager, Customer and Energy Analytics
Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Dunsmuir 04
Employment type: Permanent Region: Lower Mainland
Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid
Annual salary: $ 127,900.00 - 161,800.00
What you'll do
An exciting opportunity exists to lead the dynamic Customer and Energy Analytics team during a critical period wherein BC
Hydro is pursuing increased energy efficiency, driving operational improvement, and supporting our customers in the
energy transition. The Manager, Customer and Energy Analytics, leads a team of data scientists and load researchers who
create insights from and develop fact based solutions based on BC Hydro’s smart grid, metering and customer data to
support key business areas and programs across BC Hydro.
Duties
The Manager, Customer and Energy Analytics:
- Works with business sponsors in areas across BCH that can utilize customer and energy data (e.g. distribution planning,
customer service operations, load forecasting, finance, etc.) to identify and prioritize analytics use cases that can leverage
customer and energy data foundation.
- Leads the business development of new analytics use cases in the customer and energy analytics area leveraging BC
Hydro’s investments in Energy Analytics
- Manages and leads a team of technical, professional and other staff engaged in analytics, statistics, data modelling, and
algorithm development to inform strategic decision making within business groups that rely on customer and energy data.
- Provides a safe workplace for employees, contractors and the public, by maintaining safe work practices and systems,
and ensuring employee competence at the business unit or function level
- Manages resources (financial, technical, people) and sets schedules/ timelines across immediate team
What you bring
- Degree in business, statistics, mathematics or other quantitative discipline
- 10 years’ experience in analytical and leadership roles
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work optimally with all job groups and advanced analytical skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills to engage with internal customers and convey strategic insights from
analytical work.
