Project Coordinator
Sudbury, Ontario SUMMARY Reporting to the Director, Sudbury, GIP Paving has an opportunity available for a Project Coordinator for projects in Sudbury area working for its Construction division located in Sudbury, Ontario. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate project documentation, coordinating schedules, and tracking metrics to ensure projects are on track, within scope, and aligned with organizational standards.
PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE
As a Project Coordinator, you will assist Project Superintendents and Project Managers with daily management of project(s) including but not limited to the following: Project Operations & Progress Tracking Read and interpret contract drawings and specifications. Understand, read and implement project schedules. Monitor, record and report production rates and construction progress daily. Supervise subcontractor and own forces as required. Review field inspection reports from consultants throughout the lifecycle of the project. Complete As-Built Drawings. Job close-outs – responsible for ensuring actions arising from minutes are completed.
Financial & Contract Administration
Identify, measure and keep record of quantities as per contract items and assist the project manager in preparation of the monthly payment certificates. Assist the Project Manager and Site Superintendent in the cost coding and cost controlling process. Prepare submissions as required for the client.
Communication & Stakeholder Relations
Report to the Project Manager. Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Attend site meetings (as required). Effectively and accurately, communicate relevant project information to the client and project team. Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. Keep the Project Manager and others informed about project status and issues that may affect safety/quality/client relations and profitability.
Compliance & General Support
Implement the environmental/safety/quality control programs as per protocols. Other duties as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Civil Engineering Technician/Technology Diploma 2+ years of experience in practical construction experience Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Proficient using Microsoft Office tools A valid driver’s license WHAT WE OFFER Expected Base Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations. Comprehensive group benefits program.
