About the role
Bentley School is a Pre-K to grade 12 school serving 460 students. Bentley School is seeking a dynamic student-centered teacher to join our middle years team.
As we near the end of the first semester, we have some flexibility within the position and are committed to shaping the assignment around the strengths and experience of the successful candidate. We are looking for an educator who can contribute positively to our school community and support the diverse needs of our Grade 6–9 learners.
Assignment:
- Full-time 1.0 FTE Interim teaching position
- Courseload to include: Social Studies 9, Social Studies 30, and Options beginning April 6th
- Duties to commence as soon as possible and will continue for the remainder of the 2025/2026 school year.
Qualifications:
- Ability to contribute to a collaborative, student-focused middle school team
- Strong background in Social Studies would be considered an asset
- Commitment to building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Proficient in PowerSchool for reporting and assessments
- Commitment to supporting student growth, both academically and socially
- Passion for education and a commitment to student success
- Able to provide direction and create individual student programs in collaboration with an EA
- Able to teach in a positive and collaborative learning environment, within a welcoming school community
- Effective classroom management that facilitates safe, caring, and inclusive spaces for all students
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Willingness to work in a team-oriented learning environment and be a positive team member
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth
