About the role

Kawartha Controls is a Canadian advanced manufacturing company specializing in the design and production of precision hydraulic manifolds and fluid power systems for OEM customers across North America.

We are seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Technician, Technologist, or Machinist to support a variety of manufacturing, CNC machining, and process improvement initiatives. This position provides hands-on experience working with advanced CNC equipment, CAD/CAM systems, AI-assisted manufacturing tools, and quality systems within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare quotations for custom hydraulic manifold projects Communicate with customers regarding technical requirements and manufacturability Create and modify hydraulic manifold CAD models and manufacturing drawings Develop and validate CAM and CNC programs Support CNC process optimization and first-run production Perform quality inspections and assist with process validation Support continuous improvement and AI-based manufacturing initiatives Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure successful project execution

Preferred Qualifications

Diploma or Advanced Diploma in: Mechanical Engineering Technology Manufacturing Engineering Technology Fluid Power / Hydraulics / Pneumatics CNC Programming Precision Machining Industrial Engineering Technology or a related technical field Equivalent industry experience will also be considered

Desired Skills

Experience with some of the following is considered an asset: CNC machining Mastercam, CAMWorks, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software SolidWorks or other CAD software Manufacturing process improvement GD&T and engineering drawings Inspection equipment and quality systems Hydraulic and fluid power systems

Additional Requirements

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Comfortable working in both office and shop-floor environments Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Strong communication and teamwork skills Must be eligible to obtain Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance

Kawartha Controls operates within a Controlled Goods Program environment. Successful candidates must be able to obtain CGP registration, which is administered by the Government of Canada. The assessment may include identity verification, background screening, and a review of an individual's ability to access controlled technical information and defence-related products. Final eligibility is determined solely by the Controlled Goods Directorate.

Employment Details

Full-time position 42.5 hours per week Location: Omemee, Ontario Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience
