Our Terrace location is seeking an experienced Ramp Supervisor to support our diverse operations. This full-time position, with a shift rotation of 4 days on, 3 days off.

Description:
The Ramp Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of aircraft ground handling operations at the YXT Fixed Base Operation (FBO) and YXT Main Terminal.This role ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and customer service expectations while providing hands-on leadership to the Ramp Agent team. The Ramp Supervisor drives operational excellence, supports staff development, and ensures safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a high-performing ground handling team, maintaining strong service levels at both the Terrace FBO and Main Terminal.
  • Foster a positive, safety-first culture where employees feel engaged and accountable.
  • Act as a safety role model by leading toolbox talks, conducting safety observations, and encouraging hazard reporting.
  • Oversee and support ramp services including baggage handling, aircraft marshalling, towing, and aircraft servicing.
  • Prepare and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Plan and prioritize daily tasks for the ramp team while ensuring adequate staffing and resource allocation.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop ramp staff to build a strong and motivated team.
  • Serve as a designated trainer, monitor and ensure staff compliance with EFC and airline training requirements and maintain accurate records in the designated Learning Management Systems.
  • Communicate operational updates and shift changes clearly to ensure team alignment.
  • Monitor staff attendance and performance, providing feedback and reporting to the Base Manager.
  • Support ramp and facility operations as required.
  • Collaborate with other EFC-YXT leaders to maintain seamless coordination across all operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between ramp staff, airline representatives, and base management.
  • Operate ground service equipment safely and in accordance with company and airline procedures.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring positive resolutions.
  • Make timely decisions to resolve irregular operations (IROPs), weather delays, or staffing shortages.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.
  • Support and participate in the company’s Health & Safety and Quality programs.
  • Ensure incidents and near-misses are reported, investigated, and followed up appropriately.
  • Ensure operational and safety performance targets are achieved.
  • Conduct audits of safety, security, and handling procedures; participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Keep ramp staff informed of changes in policies, procedures, or operational requirements.
  • Monitor equipment and supply needs, reporting deficiencies as required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Must be available for shift work, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Be available for on-call duties as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certificate in aviation, management, or related field (asset).
  • Previous aviation operations experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.
  • Ability to obtain Airport Security Clearance and provide a clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • Restricted Radio Operator’s Certificate required within 60 days of hire.
  • First Aid/CPR certification considered an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions, lifting up to 60 lbs, and working extended shifts/overtime when required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and multitask effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and team-focused attitude.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of the EFC team.
