About the role
Securiguard is looking for a reliable, community-focused Patrol Officer to support safety and security operations at a university campus. In this role, you'll help create a safe and friendly environment for students, employees, and campus visitors by being a visible presence, responding to incidents, and offering excellent customer service.
Location: Hope, BC
Key Responsibilities
- Complete regular patrols of campus buildings, grounds, and parking areas.
- Respond promptly to alarms, security concerns, and emergencies-including medical situations.
- Provide first aid support as needed (OFA Level 2 required) and coordinate with emergency services when appropriate.
- Assist and engage with the campus community, offering helpful, professional customer service.
- Follow and support campus access control procedures, safety protocols, and policy enforcement.
- Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and documentation.
- Assist with campus events and special security assignments when scheduled.
Qualifications
- Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA 2) - mandatory.
- Valid BC Security Worker's License.
- Previous experience in security or related fields is an advantage.
- Strong communication, situational awareness, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated customer service skills and a positive, approachable attitude.
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Able to walk and patrol for extended periods across a large campus area.
- Able to respond quickly and effectively during emergencies.
