Agropur is looking for Shipping Supervisor day shift to join is Don Mills team.

The Shipping Supervisor day shift monitors operations of the Warehouse/Shipping Department to ensure that quantitative and qualitative measures are met. He will hold their team accountable for their KPI's, such as those related to health and safety, standard costs, cost reductions, productivity, sanitation, customer satisfaction and Labour. The incumbent participates to maintain the requirements on food safety, quality and food defense.

The Shipping Supervisor day shift has to work Monday to Thursday 5:00 to 15:00.

  • Salary range 004: $80,200 to $100,300 (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position.)

How you will contribute to collective success:

More specifically, the Don Mills Shipping Supervisor's responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate shipping operations between Shipping and Production, which you are responsible to manage the scheduling and planning of all Shipping and Receiving activities daily.
  • Lead a group of over 15 unionized employees per shift, in a fast-paced environment, by conducting shift meetings, planning the operations and meeting customer deadlines.
  • Working with and covering manpower scheduler by fulfilling daily and weekly manpower needs for over 60 warehouse employees along with scheduling vacations, covering sick calls and addressing employee administrative concerns with HC.
  • Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plan and reviews
  • Promote and enhance a positive employee relation's environment including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee involvement.
  • Creating KPIs for warehouse and measuring and reporting the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee’s performance.
  • Organizing and maintaining inventory storage area
  • Maintaining a safe working environment, reporting, and investigating any incidents.
  • Promote a positive employee workplace atmosphere including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee engagement.
  • Investigate performance, non-compliance, violations of policy/ procedures and discipline when necessary
  • Assign employee duties as required to gain optimum efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Projects could include analyzing load times, data tracking on equipment, developing and implementing of new warehouse procedures.

The type of team player who fits with the team:

  • A university degree or college diploma in a relevant field.
  • 7-10 years of supervisory experience in a similar environment and experience within a union environment is preferred.
  • Experience in health and safety leadership, HACCP, SQF, quality assurance and good manufacturing practices.
  • Flexible for other shift (day, night and weekend).
  • Strong computer competencies, Oracle and Excel advanced is required.
  • Working knowledge of UKG (Payroll), and Six Sigma is an asset.
