The Opportunity
Select Fluid Power is looking for a mechanically skilled Hydraulic Technician to join our team in Langley, BC. As the Hydraulic Technician, you will be responsible for completing a variety of heavy equipment repair tasks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Dismantle, inspect, diagnose, repair, and assemble hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders Conduct detailed inspections, perform failure analysis, and identify all repairs required for successful job completion Identify, measure, and prepare parts and material requirements for procurement Perform wet fluorescent magnetic particle (MPI) testing and accurately interpret results Operate honing equipment and understand various surface finish requirements and specifications Determine and verify tolerances based on operating pressures and application requirements Safely operate hydraulic power units and related testing equipment Review inspection reports and repair requirements Maintain accurate documentation and work records Follow all company health and safe work practices
Required Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
At least 1 year of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industry Provincial Heavy Duty or Automotive Journeyperson’s ticket, or a Relevant Red Seal Trade Certification Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing hydraulic cylinders is a strong asset Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts Strong work ethic and a positive attitude Valid driver’s license

The base pay range for this role is: $25.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience level.

This new facility enables us to provide exceptional service and support to customers in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Washington State, Oregon, California, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.
Our experienced team of hydraulic cylinder repair technicians specializes in large and small cylinder rebuilds and our new facility has the longest chrome plating tank west of the Mississippi. Our goal is to continue to provide great quality with turn around times that are unmatched in our industry.
Whether you are looking to chrome a 50' rod or rebuild a 4 stage chip dump cylinder, Select Fluid Power has the expertise and knowledge to do the job right.
Operating 7 days per week, Select Fluid Power has the fastest turn around times in the business. Our fully integrated facility includes a 50' chrome tank, a 16 tonne crane system, an onsite machine shop, paint booth, several grinders and polishers along with a fully stocked hydraulic cylinder repair department. No job is too big or too small for our skilled technicians.
