About the role
We are looking for a co-op student with 8 months availability.
What You Will Be Doing
- Review requests for qualification, requests for proposal, addenda, and all other contractual documents.
- Assist senior estimators in the preparation of estimating guidelines and estimation schedule.
- Review Issued for Estimation drawings and reports.
- Assist in the preparation of work breakdown structures.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and participate in quantity reconciliations.
- Support procurement leads in the preparation of requests for quotes packages.
- Liaise with local subcontractors and suppliers, clarify quotes received and prepare comparison sheets.
- Assist in the preparation of indirect costs.
- Assist in cash flows preparation and analysis.
- Participate in the identification and assessment of risk and opportunities.
- Participate in the preparation of green sheets, preliminary and final cost estimates.
- Perform all other related tasks that will help the estimation team complete the project.
What We Are Looking For
- University Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction or another relevant discipline.
- Previous experience carrying take-offs would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software will be an asset.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
- Experience with/knowledge of Bluebeam/Revu.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good initiative, attention to details.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ideal candidates should be interested in developing a career as an estimator, focused mainly on bids with optional temporary deployments to live projects if needed.
