About the role
Scope of Position:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the incumbent will be planning, organizing and managing the company's accounting and budgeting activities in accordance with established processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports.
- Balance sheet integrity and reconciliation.
- Manage the accuracy of day-to-day activities of invoicing, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general accounting, cost accounting, etc.
- Review and maintain appropriate accruals for Obsolescence, Rebates, Bad Debt, Bonus, and other miscellaneous items.
- Ensure that all statutory requirements are met including Income Tax and sales Tax.
- Prepare analyses to evaluate different strategies and get optimal results for various projects.
- Participate in review of internal control policies to ensure compliance.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives by ensuring proper implementation, documentation and communicate the process modifications and improvements.
- Coordinate and participate in the monthly closing process and ensure the financial transactions are accounted in accordance with the IFRS and company policies.
- Coordinate and update planning tools for annual budgets, quarterly and short-term forecasts.
- Identify the management team's reporting and analysis needs and create financial reports and KPI dashboards of to meet these needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in the preparation of updated forecasts and present a functional, regional and consolidated analysis of the previous year's budget and forecasts.
- Actively participate in the annual budget process, including coordination with the stakeholders of the organization, budget consolidation and analysis and prepare management reports and presentations.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA designation with relevant industry experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in a similar position, preferable in a Sales/Distribution environment.
- Strong computer skills including electronic spreadsheets, Power BI and ERPs.
- Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to analyze and summarize information to understand issues, identify options and promote sound decision making.
- Detail oriented; inquisitive, with the ability to work conscientiously, consistently and meticulously.
- Ability to adapt to work effectively in ambiguous or changing situations and with a variety of individuals and groups.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as HR management skills.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS rules.
