Rainy River

Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River mine is an open pit and underground, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River mine, located adjacent to the Ontario/Minnesota border is 65 kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.

Applicants who reside in Northwestern Ontario and have experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the Northwest Ontario, are assets. About The Role

Position: Underground Heavy Duty Mechanic (Beat Mechanic)

Schedule: 14x14

Position Reports To: Underground Maintenance Supervisor

Role Summary

The Beat Mechanic will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of our underground mobile mining equipment and to support safe and reliable operations ensuring all work is conducted safely and in accordance with industry standards and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections on underground heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify and diagnose mechanical issues in heavy equipment, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to pinpoint malfunctions and minimize downtime. Repairs & Overhauls: Conduct repairs and component overhauls on underground equipment, including engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and braking systems, ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer specifications. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance and repairs, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and your team. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed. Complete detailed reports on equipment status, repairs conducted, and parts used. Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with the operations and maintenance teams to ensure minimal disruption to production schedules by performing timely and efficient repairs. Use of Tools & Equipment: Safely operate and maintain a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment required for the repair and maintenance of heavy underground machinery.

Qualifications

Journeyperson Red Seal Mechanic. Underground experience an asset. SAP or similar CMMS experience an asset. Microsoft Office program operation and application skills. Caterpillar and Maclean experience an asset. Sandvik drill experience an asset. Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems. Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently. Excellent safety record. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

The anticipated salary for this position will be between $118,000 to $128,000.
