About The Role ATB Capital Markets provides advisory and institutional services including Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions, Equity Financings, Debt Capital Markets, Acquisitions & Divestitures, Equity Research and Sales & Trading.
Our Calgary office is looking for a Summer Analyst to join our Energy Investment Banking team for the Summer 2026 Term.
The team is very active across a number of select sub-sectors with a strong pipeline of deals and a fast-growing franchise. The successful candidate will be involved in and experience all aspects of the transaction process and development of strategic business ideas.
You will join a dynamic entrepreneurial team and will have the opportunity to work with clients and senior management. You will assist in the execution of M&A, equity and other financing mandates and will closely work with professionals across the firm to deliver high quality advice and ideas to our clients.
Accountabilities
Individuals Will Be Assigned a Wide Variety Of Projects And Given As Much Responsibility As Their Experience And Capabilities Permit, Some Of Which May Include
- Researching and analyzing industries and client's financial and operational data
- Supporting with the execution of M&A transactions and other equity and debt financings
- Assisting with the preparation of presentations, marketing materials and development of new business ideas
- Building and reviewing financial models
- Interacting with senior bankers and clients
Skills, Experience & Requirements
- Enrolment in a Bachelor's degree in Business / Commerce (an emphasis on Finance or Accounting)
- Past Co-op Experience in Financial Services is preferred (investment banking, corporate finance in a big-4, consulting or other relevant experience)
- Strong financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills
- Self-starter and strong team player with an ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills to support recommendations and advice
- Strong oral and written communication skills, intellectual ability and time management skills
- Strong work ethic and motivation with a willingness to work for extended hours including evenings and weekends, when required
- Exceptional attention to detail
