Aurora Peat Products produces professional grade Canadian Sphagnum peat moss products that enhance crop productivity and overall growing media quality for a wide range of industries and uses such as: soil mixes for the horticulture market, soil conditioners, mushroom casing material, general vegetable gardening, cannabis, and reforestation seedlings. We are currently looking for Peat Moss Production Plant – 55 Baler Operator
This position works as a member of the production team and is responsible for running the 55 baler, placing pallets on palatizes, placing lapels on bales, yield test on products.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Operate the baler daily including but not limited to:
- Performing start up and shut down of baler
- Placing bags in bag feeder
- Performing yield tests
- Placing pallets on the tipper
- Placing labels on finished products
- General housekeeping and maintaining the work area clean
- Maintain accurate information and records
- Trouble shoot and problem solve minor issues and problems
- Adhere to the SOPs and safety protocols
- Any other duties that may be assigned
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- Previous work experience in a production or similar facility
- Working knowledge of the 55 baler and all of its components is an asset
- Safety conscientious and a team player
- Positive attitude and punctual
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out procedures
- Ability to work in a dusty/outdoor environment
