Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Facility Operations Manager, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for the maintenance and physical condition of the agency’s facilities located in Thunder Bay, Fort William First Nation and also the district offices (Armstrong, Longlac, Nipigon, and Mobert). The Maintenance Worker will ensure agency facilities meet the standards set by the Agency and relevant legislation. The Maintenance Worker will report on-going conditions of the facilities to the Facility Operations Manager and will ensure that available resources are used to the best advantage to the agency.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A minimum grade 12 diploma is required. A six-month Building Maintenance and Operations Certificate is preferred.
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Facility Operations Manager in relation to service requirements.
- Must be able to travel to district offices quarterly for maintenance needs.
- Must provide a criminal records check with vulnerable sector search.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a Standard First Aid and/or CPR certificate.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain Fall and Arrest training.
- A valid Class “G” Driver’s license, access to a reliable personal vehicle, and $1,000,000 liability vehicle insurance.
Hours of Work: 32.5 hours per week
