As a Land Assistant, you will support Real Estate and Development Services staff with their daily operations. You will also provide assistance and information to external customers and other City business units as it relates to land titles, encroachments, sales, leasing, and/or corporate land administration. Primary duties include:
- Obtain and interpret document searches from land titles.
- Review legal survey plans and prepare documents in accordance with City requirements.
- Provide support to one or more of the following teams: Land Titles, Encroachments, Acquisitions, Sales, Leasing and/or Corporate Land Administration with various daily aspects of their jobs.
- Prepare letters of consent, on the City's behalf, to Land Titles for condominiums, subdivisions, and related survey plans.
- Inform survey companies and land surveyors of any concerns The City may have with submitted plans or agreements.
Qualifications
- A High School diploma or equivalent (For example: GED) supplemented with at least 1 job related course.
- At least 3 years of related real estate experience.
- The ability to interpret and communicate legislation, legal survey plans, and engineering and architectural drawings.
- Conduct research and communicate market information on land dealings.
- Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently as well as a member of a team.
- Excellent research and organization skills, demonstrated time management skills, and the ability to prioritize work in an environment which has constantly changing priorities.

Compensation: Pay Grade 7 $35.45 - 47.43 per hour
Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day
work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
